Willy Wonka revisited

Okay, I saw the new Charlie and Chocolate Factory, and as I stated months ago, it was a bad idea. The movie has it's own merits. It's not like it is a copy of the original. It's just not that good. Of course I'm jaded being a big fan of the original, but it was just "pretty good." What is Tim Burton's malfunction? Why would you take such feel-good events like Christmas, inheriting a chocolate factory, and soon, a wedding, and turn it into a dreary, weird spectacle? I'm not talking goth, or macabre, just dreary.

Next year: Tim Burton's The Wizard of Odd
